On the 15th of November, Sniffer, in partnership with Climate Ready Clyde, hosted an in-person event for communities and community organisations in Glasgow City Region, supported by Adaptation Scotland and local authorities. The aim of the event was to create a foundation to support more meaningful, wider community participation in place-based climate adaptation and resilience, and we wanted this event to be a conduit for gathering inputs from a wider range of voices, as well as encouraging people to think about solutions and local action in different ways.
Our communities will need to look and feel very different if they are to flourish in the future – change will need to be collaborative, with communities having an equal seat at the table and given real power to drive forward the changes they know are needed to become more resilient. With this in mind, we centred the event around communication, resource and knowledge-sharing, with opportunities to take part in creative and interactive sessions. There were speakers from third sector organisations, workshops run by Adaptation Scotland, time for networking, and the chance to get peoples’ ideas captured by an artist – have a look at the event graphic in more detail via the link below.
Thank you to everyone who came and participated in the day! You can download the event slides and the graphic from the links below. We hope to see you at another event soon!
