In March 2024, Verture attended the Scottish Communities Climate Action Network (SCCAN) Annual Gathering in Glasgow. The event brought together SCCAN members, local organisations and other key stakeholders to celebrate SCCAN’s achievements, share ideas and stories, and renew their 10-year vision. There were opportunities to participate in interactive workshops, networking activities and explore topics around capacity building, climate resilience and engagement.

Verture ran a workshop on the theme: “Understanding who is most vulnerable to climate change in our communities: why, how, what for?” We shared our experience of why it is important to collectively determine who is most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and how to use this information to reduce vulnerabilities.

Participants also learned about examples from our recent work with Climate Ready Ken, Outer Hebrides Climate Impacts Mapping and Glasgow City Region’s Climate Vulnerability Map.
