Elected members webinar – Glasgow City Region: flourishing in the future climate

As part of Scotland’s Climate Week 2022, we are hosting a special webinar for elected members from across Glasgow City Region’s eight local authorities.

There is a choice of two repeated sessions:

  • Tuesday 27 September, 10:00 – 11:00
  • Friday 30 September, 14:00 – 15:00

Online registration is now open.

Glasgow City Region’s climate is already changing, with more frequent heatwaves and increased coastal erosion and flooding expected over the coming decades. If our City Region is to become an even better place to live, work and do business, we all need to work together to become more resilient to these changes, and ensure everyone benefits.

Climate Ready Clyde has set out a bold shared vision of a Glasgow City Region that flourishes in a future climate, whilst prioritising the needs of our most vulnerable residents and communities. This ambitious approach is recognised as a leading example both within Scotland and internationally.

This special webinar for elected members from across the region’s eight local authorities will deepen understanding of how climate change is already affecting Glasgow City Region, and how organisations across the region are working together to increase our resilience. It will also provide an opportunity to explore the role of elected members in championing adaptation action, and how this can help create stronger places and improve our quality of life.
